The Purpose

This is the fanlisting collective of all the fanlistings (approved by TheFanlistings.org) that are run by me -- namely Selene la Luna of forsaken-faith.org. I've created a separate collective for all my fanlistings approved by other networks (such as The Physical Fanlisting Network, The Taboo Fanlisting Network or The Namelisting Network) and you can find them at Painted Blind. With the opening of The Anime Fanlistings Network (which branched off from TheFanlistings.org), I've also opened a collective for all of my anime and manga related fanlistings called Forgotten Lore.

The Site Name

The site name came from a couple lines in a poem by Paul Laurence Dunbar: "We wear the mask that grins and lies, it hides our cheeks and shades our eyes." I don't know why I named the site that, but I love the poem, and it felt appropriate.

The Layouts/Skins

The site is skinned, so there are two different layout choices at present:

v.2: perfect peach, which features the beautiful model Magdalena Wrobel. The image used came from my personal files.

v.3: not so innocent, which features the actor Stephen Dorff. The image used also came from my personal files.

The first layout was designed some time ago and I decided not to add it as a new skin due to consistency issues. It was entitled "seen red" and you can see a few screencaps of it here.

The Credits

The graphics were all done by Selene la Luna. The script used to manage the collective is Flinx Collective 1.0 Copyright 2003 Sasha & Bonnie. All rights reserved. The skinning of the site was made possible with Angela's wonderful script phpSiteSkin.
